What should a car show you in the half-second that matters?

At speed on a mountain road, a driver has a fraction of a second to notice what matters, and the instrument cluster decides what that is. The brief was a concept for Land Rover’s 2030 cluster: carry safety-critical information in a bold, futuristic visual language, without ever letting the style slow the glance. The concept was chosen to move into the production build, and earned an appreciation from Jaguar Land Rover.

Every element was weighed against one test: could a driver take it in without looking away from the road for more than an instant?

A futuristic visual language

A bold, forward-looking aesthetic gave the 2030 cluster its identity, while keeping legibility and calm at its core.

Safety-critical hierarchy

The information that keeps a driver safe always won the hierarchy, no matter how striking the rest of the screen became.

Into production

The concept direction was selected to carry into the production programme, and recognised with an appreciation certificate from Jaguar Land Rover.
